POSTER DESIGN COMPETITION
Topic: “The 50th Anniversary of the UDSM”
Prize: Tshs 500,000/= for the winning poster

The Directorate of Public Service will sponsor a contest for the best poster for the 50th Anniversary of the University of Dar es Salaam. The university will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary in October 2011 and preparations for the occasion are underway.

This poster design competition is one of the means of getting the university community, alumni and the general public actively involved in seeing their oldest institution through the year of celebration. The poster should highlight the meaning and theme of the UDSM 50th Anniversary.

Moreover, it will be used in announcing the golden jubilee as we draw near to the climax of the event as well as serve as a reminder of the three pillars of our
university – Teaching, Research and Public Service. Poster Specifications:
The entries submitted by the contestants should at least meet the
below requirements:

1. Highlight the theme, pursue initiative and inspiration, and
fully embody the essence of the university.
2. Embody the emblem of the university “Hekima ni Uhuru”
in a proper way.
3. Stress application and vogue, and advocate originality
4. Consider comprehensively factors such as craft, function,
and region.
5. Call for unlimited art style

Submission requirements:
1. A copy of A4 (210mm×297mm) colorful effect pictures
should be handed in for every entry. There is no need to
bind up the entry, but don’t fold it. The submitted colorful
effect pictures should reflect the three-dimensional
perspective diagram and the three-view diagram of the
entry, where necessary. Please mark or describe the
pictures with the necessary size, craft and material.

2. An electronic compact disk (CD) should also be submitted,
including format-modifiable electronic files such as threedimension
pictures, whose storage format is TIFF or JPEG.
Please mark down the name and contact number on the
front cover of the disk.
3. Contestants should also submit a “Promise Letter of
Intellectual Property Transfer” for their entries.
4. Contestants should also submit contact details on a
separate sheet of paper.
