13th July, Africa House, 10:40-12:30Fearless and feisty the 'Rough Aunties' are a remarkable group of women unwavering in their stand to protect and care for the abused, neglected and forgotten children of Durban, South Africa. This newest documentary by internationally acclaimed director Kim Longinotto follows this outspoken, multiracial cadre of women as they wage a daily battle against systemic apathy, corruption and greed to help the most vulnerable and disenfranchised of their communities.

ZIFF welcomes back director Caroline Kamya with her new feature film Imani, which premiered at the prestigious 2010 Berlin Film Festival.
Imani, meaning ‘faith’ is the first film to be shot on Red camera in Uganda as well as the first film to be shot in local languages Lugandan and Acholi. It has a cast and crew of mainly inexperienced locals.
