The Regional English Language Officer for East and North Central Africa with the US Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Mrs. Rebecca Smoak presents a ticket to an International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) participant Mr. Seif Suleiman Said, the founder and owner of Mbuyu Mkavu Beach Resort in Zanzibar Tanzania Island when he recently visited the Public Affairs Office at the U.S. embassy in Dar es Salaam. He will participate in the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Program in the U.S.

Mr. Kenneth LuePhang, Contracting Officer for USAID at the U.S. embassy in Dar es Salaam presents a ticket to an International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) participant Dr. Hawa Juma Ngasongwa, a Medical Officer at the Department of Internal Medicine and member of the Tanzanian People's Defense Force who will participate in the Public Health and Infectious Disease Education and Prevention Program in the United States of America.

Dr. Hawa Juma Ngasongwa, a Medical Officer at the Department of Internal Medicine and member of the Tanzanian People's Defense Force, will participate in the Public Health and Infectious Disease Education and Prevention Program in the United States of America from September 12 -30, 2011.
Dr. Hawa, will join 21other program participants from Benin, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ghana, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

The program introduces participants to the role of federal, state and municipal government agencies and non-governmental organizations in developing both national and grassroots public health programs.  Participants will also explore public health preparedness and response as well as health education and public awareness strategies in health, safety and illness prevention, especially related to HIV/AIDS and malaria.

As part of the program, participants will visit Washington D.C., and the states of Florida, North Carolina, Georgia; Oklahoma, New Mexico, and California.

The International Visitors Leadership Program is sponsored by the American people through the U.S. Department of State. It is intended to facilitate personal and professional contacts between the people of the United States and Tanzania, and is part of overall U.S. Government direct and multilateral assistance to Tanzania of over 850 billion Tanzanian shillings this fiscal year.
