The
Director General of the National Social Security Fund Dr. Ramadhani Dau
has presented air tickets to six under-20 players traveling to Ghana for a Manchester City football clinic.
Speaking on 18 November 2011 at a brief ceremony at BWM Pension Towers in Dar es Salaam, Dr. Dau urged the young boys to aim for excellence at the clinic saying those who will excel will win a slot in the under-20 Manchester City squad.
Responding
to a question from the media, Dr Dau said, if the ‘investment’ in the
youths proved worthwhile, NSSF would closely look into it with a view
to taking relevant measures to boost the game in the country. He did
not elaborate.
The clinic that will attract prospective players from across the world has been organized by Global Soccer Network of Britain in conjunction with the TFF Academy.
The
Fund has put in a total of Shs. 13 million which is intended to cater
for return air tickets, food and accommodation for the youths’ one-week
stay in the West African nation.
The boys, who depart on 19 November, will be escorted by Senior Public Relations Officer Juma Kintu and will be in Ghana from 21st to 25th November 2011. ends
