Ambassador Alfonso E. Lenhardt launched a new English Access Microscholarship Program during a ceremony held at the U. S. Embassy on October 17, 2012. The Ambassador distributed certificates of award to the twenty-five Form One Microscholarship recipients and lauded their academic goals.

In his remarks, the Ambassador congratulated the students and highlighted shared values between Tanzania and the United States: "Americans and Tanzanians cherish their families and communities, believe in democracy, good governance, and the rule of law."

He also encouraged the students to seize on opportunities to further their education and prepare themselves for future challenges to contribute to Tanzania's development, adding: "As I have said before, no nation can develop without the immense talents and contributions of girls and women.

You cannot have development without the contributions of women, who comprise 53% of the population. As a proud father of three very successful women - two lawyers and a doctor - I want the same opportunities afforded to them for every Tanzanian girl.

All of us have a responsibility to promote women's rights in our communities, especially men." The Regional English Language Office in partnership with Genesis Schools worked with Kambangwa School, Kinondoni District to identify the twenty-five Form One Microscholarship recipients.

The Access Program provides two years of afterschool English instruction and leadership development activities for bright, economically disadvantaged students between the ages of 14-18.

Shame on you Balozi Lenhardt. Maybe you think Tanzania women are stupid. Why don't you tell them the truth about me? Why America does not want to help me or let Tanzania people help me? No freedom and you go around giving lectures on women and children rights.Balozi Lenhardt take your crap somewhere else.
