Valhalla Football Club, an amateur football club in Msasani on Saturday 9th February 2013, donated office equipments worth Tshs. 3.8 ml to a prostate cancer health education organization Tanzania 50 Plus Campaign. Valhalla FC had at the end of November 2012 organized a “Movember Party” during which they collected funds for that purpose.
Movember is an international movement of men who shave their moustache at the end of October and for the rest of November they rear them. At the end of November they organize a Movember Party during and fundraise to support a local prostate cancer campaign initiative. Mr. Athu Karume with his team mates handing over the equipments to Dr. Kandusi.
Dr. Emmanuel Kandusi, a prostate cancer survivor, coordinator and founder of Tanzania 50 Plus Campaign thanked Valhalla Football Club for their exemplary donation and invited other football clubs to follow their example. “Prostate cancer is a devastating disease to male adults; many suffer and loose their lives because they lack knowledge on the disease. Tanzania 50 Plus Campaign is here to do just exactly that, educating the public about prostate cancer”. All members of public are invited to support in all forms this campaign and follow example of Valhalla Foot ball Club.
