ReplyDeletePamoja na mengine aliyoyafanya, Mama Mary Mackeja ni mwanzilishi wa Red Cross hapa nchini katika miaka ya Sitini. Aidha, mume wake alikuwa ni Chief Makwaia ambae alipata nae mtoto mmoja ambae ni kiongozi wa idara ya kompyuta ya Benki Kuu Tz tangu miaka angalau kumi hivi. Mama alifariki akiwa Marekani wiki iliyopita.

The first Secretary General of the Red Cross in the then Tanganyika Mary-Louise Mackeja has died in Westchester Medical Centre in New York on May 13 after succumbing to kidney failure.
A statement issued by her family members yesterday said the late Mary-Louise suffered from kidney failure since 1999 and began treatment in the US.
Being the first African woman in the then Tanganyika to receive a driver`s license Mackeja was one of the first women of Tanganyika to join the University of Makerere in Uganda.
She was born on February 28, 1928 in the village of Nkolandoto, Shinyanga and was raised at a Mission where she was babtized at the African Inland Church (A.I.C.) Nkolandoto.
In the year 1951 she enrolled at the University of Makerere in Uganda. Between 1956 and 1957, she taught at Bwiru Girls` Secondary School in Mwanza and between 1958 and 1960 she taught at Rwamishenye Girls� School in Bukoba.
After completing a course in Development Studies at the University of Michigan (USA) in 1960, she resigned teaching and joined the Sector for Development in Tanga where she worked for a year.
Between 1961 and 1985, the late Mary-Louse joined the Red Cross Tanzania where she worked as its first Secretary General.

ReplyDeleteits real shame to that kinda of cart carrying casket...thats disrespectful and lack human dignity...those clap are not deserving even to carry luggage...cmon guys u need to be serious in business its not a joke thats a big shame why dont u guys find even a simple n clean casket / coffin carrier just to show a respect to the human body...i believe it wont cost even a US$1000

ReplyDeleteIf you think the Cart carrying Casket is dirty go and buy one and donate to the airport authorities otherwise even yourself when you die your casket will be carried by the same dirty cart which by that time you die will be the dirtiest!!! so you will be carried on on the dirtiest cart.

ReplyDeleteMpeni heshima za mwisho huyu mama yetu jamani kwani SHE WAS DIFFERENT na hakuwa na tabia chafu, maisha yote alikuwa MWEMA na sio kama mdogowake. Mama Mackeja HAKUCHUKUWA MUME WA DADA YAKE WALA KUWA NA SIFA YEYOTE MBAYA.
SO PLEASE GIVE THE LADY RESPECT AND STOP PUTING BAD COMMENTS.

There is absolutely NO NEED to make NEGATIVE COMMENTS about MAMA MARY'S FAMILY/RELATIVES. It is neither the place nor the time for SUCH DEROGATORY and HURTFUL COMMENTS. It's uncalled for.
