ARE WE ALL GUILTY BYSTANDERS?
By Diaspora writer
Dear Mr Michuzi, I cant believe that Globe ya Jamii is 5 years old .Congratulations for this achievent. It is such an achievement that all of us should be proud of. It is on this blog hat i have found my voice.
Before I go for a Glass of champagne I though I should first ‘Tembeza libeneke’ because today’s traffic on our blog ya Jamii has been Tight - yani Foleni and the issues raised today by our esteemed writers are of paramount importance and mind bungling. That is why I also decided to jump in and exercise my Human Right.
First, there is something in Law called freedom of expression, association and assembly. They are related because they protect an interest that is vital in a democratic society like Tanzania- the rights of wanainchi to form groups in order to express a view publically that may be different from a general or official view.
This is vivid in Article 20 of the Universal Declaration of human Rights and Article 11 of the European convention on Human Rights. Tanzania is part of these international declarations. These declarations give US Blogger, Dr shayo , Mashaka , Issa michuzi, Diaspora writer and everyone else the Right to associate with a group in order to publicise their views I order to obtain public support or protest...It is under the same spirit , that am writing this note to answer you .
Dr US blogger PHD -Oxford University, I know you have called me to support you to fight Mashaka and Shayo , im afraid to say that I can t accept that call because these guys just like you are exercising their constitutional Rights as seen above. I can honestly say that these guys including you even though you have all propagated your opinions publically , but you have fostered public debates on our Blog ya Jamii , the search of truth and participation in a democracy given the fact that elections in Tanzania are around the corner.
This shows a high level of Political Maturity in the country and the rise of a new political thought in Tanzania . I hope The government of Tanzania reads blog ya Jamii to see the other un heard voices of Tanzania who cant be seen in the mainstream media. I Hope Mr Januari Makamba is reading Blog Ya Jamii. On this blog, we are a constituency, you better take us seriously.
Us blogger PHD Oxford university, I will kindly ask you to study the following words . maybe they will calm your nerves about Mashaka and Dr Shayo. These words are all used as verbal measures expressing some degree of uncertainty .
For example Probable, Quite certain, Unlikely, Hoped ,Possible ,Not un reasonable that , expected , doubtful, Not certain, and likely. Feeling any better now sir?. Don’t take this personal if you are really an academic as you claim to be. Jibu hoja kwa hoja, mzee. Us blogger PHD , before you go to bed today.
Please kindly read this verse in Exodus 32:3-4 “So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, "These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt." Tanzania sio kichwa cha mwendawazimu. And kindly don’t move to Zimbabwe before the next general elections. The country needs your vote.
Secondly , As fro Dr shayo .I do appreciate your contribution but what bothers me is the way you bash the current government on the head every now and then in your work. Remember that Tanzania’s political , social ,cultural and economic scene has changed for the better under this regime that you are bashing. The material problems that are facing us today are not such as they were 20 years ago. Im saying 20 years ago because it looks like your work with respect is stuck In that period.
I wish to use this opportunity to express my worry about the fact that there are people on this blog who sound like they would trade our hard earned freedom for a soup kitchen with their sweet words in the name of Tanzania’s development through the western eye. Of course there are risks in any course and version our government takes, but every lesson in Tanzania history tells us that the greater risks lies in appeasement….especially appeasing the west .
Lastly , elections are around the corner. Its true that we have problems as a country. For the sake of the future of my children, I want a governing party that has self confidence to want power and that believes that its exercise of it can tilt the country in the Right direction. This party should have the humility to recognise on any likely projection of the past , and that its powers will come to an end after every few years for the voters to decide.
The litmus test of its statesmanship wont be along hawa ni wa Unguja , hawa ni wa Pemba na hawa ni wa Bara, but how it fits into a continuous process of adaptation under our muungano in which leadership is combined with sensitivity to national mood. To me CCM still offers that.
Guys remember Our independence is not only more precious to Tanzanians only but to almost the whole of Africa than any single Possession. Did you know that almost all the regional peace depends on peace and Stability In Tanzania ?
Ask Yoweri museveni and co. Wadau is there any one who can contribute information about- Productivity and Sustainability of agriculture in Tanzania : The role of government Policy and investment?
Thank you
Punguzeni longolongo na kumtafuta mchawi. We need ideas and vision. All this rhetorical revolution will get us nowhere. An activist without action is essentially useless. What I am saying is start to contemplate the alternative and practical solutions to our matatizo rather than writing about matatizo all over again.
ReplyDeleteSenti zangu mbili hizo.

TO WADAU WA JAMII..
ReplyDeleteI have been following the blog for some time now. I would to thank Mr. Michuzi for all the efforts to make the necessary information to Wadau whereever they are.
It is obvious there are a lot of talented Tanzania out there and this is fact.
Understand the right of speech and freedom of information. However, I wish these talent could have been focused where need.
Tanzania is among the poorest countries in the world, but only by choice. The country has failed to utilised the natural resources effective.
Even whatever the country collect for the nation reserve is not spent well. There are so many likages of tax payer's funds.
If you look deep in the western world, although they are not free of corruption but things actual happened and services delivered at competetive prices.
So my fellow Tanzanians let focus on the actual facts and what is actual happening to our contry right now and ideas on how to solve them rather than focus on personality issues.
Example, we could put ideas on how to improve flow of information, maybe to establish information center. You would agree with me it very difficult to get information in Tanzania such as where to get documents approved, which ministry is responsible with what etc.
If you look at the funds mis used, they are so much that they could have covered drugs to many hospitals, cover roads improvements, farming infrastructure ect.
So fellow Tanzanians let discuss the issues, problems in the countries with solutions suggestions, maybe just maybe our leaders could pick one or two ideas and implement them accordingly.
Natoa Hoja.
Mungu Ibaridi Tanzania.
Roja.
Seriously..
ReplyDeleteWe have major problems, socially, economically and politically. In short, socially, we have no ethics at all, economically no long term vision and planning and politically no true representation of the people except for a few leaders. CCM got us to where we are the good, the bad and the ugly. True all countries in the region depend on us, but for what? They come from years of wars and they developed faster than we are with our so called piece!!?? Haya! But i must tell you my fellow Tanzanian, as the gap between "walichonacho na walala hoi" increases we got problems, especially having so many educated people who are idle.
Our education system is not dynamic, that is, does not fit the needs of the country, we just mass produce graduates. We are inviting investors, ok but take a look at the cost of doing business, "rushwa", cost of landing(interest rates), energy cost; to name a few. How can you have GDP that is strong?? Institutional reforms are long overdue since before independence. It is a social issue, no culture of constantly improving things to make them better. Let me just end here for now. NITARUDI TENA NGOJA NIJIPANGE MAANA NINA MENGI YA KUWAAMBIA NDUGU ZANGU. KAKA MICHUZI TUNASHUKURU KWA FORUM HII! KARIBU HOUSTON!! NAOMBA UWAPECHANGAMOTO VIONGOZI WETU UNAPO KUTANA NAO WAINGIE MICHUZI WA SOME MAWAZO MBALIMBALI!!
MUNGU IBARIKI TANZANIA NA WATU WAKE!!!
