I can not be surprised enough of the way things are happening in Egypt; my perception is that pretty much soon Mubarak will run out of Egypt to the place of his masters choosing.

But most of us who have more curiosity on how things will unfold will have many thoughts; as per my perspective, the ongoing trend that is derived by leader of the world (America) is to portray that Egyptian army is the organization that has mass support of people and is supporting peoples legitimate demand, as how we are seeing on news channels.

But this deliberate scenery is aimed to legitimize the move that according to my take is, the army will take over by portraying that it ousts Mubarak backed by people’s power. But my call is for us anxious followers to be keen on what the destroyer (America) is trying to do, the army will take over, the political process will be set for an election to be held within six months, and this will give the masters a timeframe to work out on who will be another puppet to take over the reigns. Also as an anxious person, you must critically asked yourself that, what made Mubarak cling to power for 3 decades?

I bet your answer will be the power of an army, and who is financed the Egyptian army? America!

These kinds of critical thinking makes I to have serious disappointments now before all the efforts of people in Egypt to be in vain by not being able to put in power a person that will be for their interests, and not the interests of Washington.

What is your take?

Mwilima. (NY)

  3. Well I don't see the way u see it Mr Mwilima , this guy been there for 30 yrs and Americans helped him to stay in power all that time. Now the people of Egypt are tired the way he runs things over there . Americans has nothing to do with that . This guy is 82yrs old and he was grooming his son to be a President . Americans gives him 1.5 billions a yr to support his regime , he just need to go . I think this send a strong message to the African leaders that one day the people will get tired of their ufisadi and other crimes they do commit everyday .

  5. You raised a couple of good points, but I don’t agree with the premise that if your scenario plays out and the next leader is actually another American puppet then the current upraising will be in vain. The main grievances that led to this upraising are socio-economic issues; lack of employment opportunities, inflation, etc etc… People are not in the street because Hosn is an American puppet or because of the regime’s relationship with Israel. As long as the next leader will be able to address peoples’ grievances, the upraising will not be in vain.

  7. Mwilima, it's nice to think things through(like you have attempted with the Egypt situation). but it is equally important to have evidence to support some of your takes here. As bad as 'the destroyer' is, you personally are in the belly of the beast = NY! Baniani m'baya, kiatu chake dawa!

Now my take on this. First how did Mubarak get to power?= he was eleceted to be president. Why are the people of Egypt eager to get him out? = They are tired of the regime for many different reasons, such as lack of proper education, health care system, poor economy etc same problems as many developing countries. How has the army been involved in this so far as of today Feb 02,2011.= so far no involvement. The destroyer as you put it, has been mainly out of the picture in public, but there's a strategic geographic position Egypt holds which makes it important for other western countries to be concerned especially America, you being in NY should at least understand that. We should really think things through sometimes, the world is not always in black and white, there are also shades of gray. That's my take. Mdau, (CA)

  10. You live in the US and yet still bash America!! Shida ndio ilikuleta US, so my take: bring your ass back to Africa or Arabia, and then you can say anything you want about America. Otherwise, now that you are still in the US, you must show some gratitude towards America. Baniani mbaya kiatu chake?
