I read with particular interest an article published in the May 25 edition of this newspaper titled ‘Collective responsibility and emerging anarchy in state policy’ by Ani Jozeni. The article would not have warranted a response if it were not so elegantly written, so blatantly misleading and wrong on both facts and logic.
I am taking the liberty to respond so as to correct certain factual errors and flaws in logic, and offer him and the readers a bit of understanding about the telecoms sector.
Jozeni’s gripe is twofold: one, that it was incorrect for a government leader to ask Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) to take up with mobile phone operators an issue about poor mobile phone services and that we, who do not reside at the Treasury, must not complain about poor tax revenue collection from telecoms companies. Two, that a deputy minister should not be talking about these things because of his imagined possibility that the minister may be having different thoughts.

Mheshimiwa tunafahamu unajua kimombo vizuri sana kuliko hata wazungu wenyewe. Lakini kumbuka unatuandikia ili tusome sisi tusiokijua. Na pia Kiswahili ndo lugha yako. Wewe kama kiongozi unatakiwa udumishe lugha yako.
ReplyDeleteMkuu tunaomba siku nyingine utumie lugha yetu ya nyumbani. Unaowapa huu ujumbe ni watanzania sio wazungu. Hata hivyo tumekuelewa kama mwandishi alikosea msamehe bure na kama kuna ukweli mezea.

ReplyDeleteWasikuzingue dogo... chapa kazi. binafsi ulivyotoa ile issue ya kodi nilitamani nije kukupa mkono. sema ndio sijui pa kukupata. Chapa kazi, tuliowengi tupo pamoja nawe... Mabadiliko ya kiutendaji ni lazima. ile issue ya "Business as usual" lazima iishe. TCRA waamke! wafanye kazi with more creativity! kama wamevishwa miwani na makampuni ya simu basi wasaidie kuwaonyesha udhaifu wao, ndio kazi ya kiongozi! Lol... Good Job, keep it up...

It is recently the Ministry of Infomration in Uganda insisted The Uganda Communication Council (UCC) rise red flag against MTN-South Against allegedly poor communication facility to the Customers in Uganda!
Why something like this can't happen in Tanzania?
