NBC LAUNCHES SMS ALERT

NBC has today launched SMS alert service that enables NBC customers to receive instant SMS notifications on their registered mobile phone numbers of transactions carried out on their accounts. The SMS notifications enable NBC customers to instantly keep track of transactions happening on their accounts. 

“In addition, this service will allow our customers to identify if their accounts have carried out any unauthorized transaction enabling them to take immediate action”, said Musa Jallow, the bank’s Head of Retail Banking

The SMS notifications will be sent out for all ATM and POS transactions carried out by a customer’s debit card. This service is free of charge, and hence NBC customers will not be charged for receiving SMS notifications.

NBC customers are not required to register for this service as SMS notifications are sent to customers’ mobile phone numbers which are registered in the NBC database. All customers with valid registered phone numbers automatically receive SMS notifications every time they carry out ATM or POS transactions with their debit card.

“If any of our customers does not receive SMS notification, it’s mostly likely that we do not have their phone number registered in our database or the phone number registered is incorrect. If that happens, we urgently advise the customers to visit any of the nearest NBC branch to update their information and start enjoying this service”, stressed Musa Jallow
