World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz may be dedicated to freeing the world from poverty - but he seems unable to afford a new pair of socks. Mr Wolfowitz's sartorial deficiencies were revealed when he took his shoes off while visiting a mosque in Edirne, western Turkey. Both of the grey socks sported holes with his big toes peeking through. The last World Bank annual report, for 2006, puts the president's salary as of 1 July, 2005, at $391,440 (£200,279).
Serious people do not pay attention to things like clothes except people like Kikwete and Lowassa. That is why they gain weight while doing the most demanding jobs.

Wanene wa chumba hicho walikuwa hawaruhusu kuingia na viatu ili kupunguza uwezekano wa kuingiza vumbi ndani ya chumba hicho. Kulikuwa na waziri wa mawasiliano na uchukuzi katika msafara huo. Waziri baada ya kuambiwa inabidi avue viatu, ilibidi aingie mitini na kuahidi kwenda kuwatembelea siku nyingine...:). Huyo mnyamwenga naye angeweza kuingia mitini ili arudi na soksi mma...LOL!

ReplyDeleteMimi nafikri hii ni sawa kuweka MVINYO WA ZAMANI KWENYE CHUPA MPYA they want us to think and believe they are behind us in attacking poverty which in my opinion its not true how come you get the salary worth $391,440 as World Bank president and still he can sit down and tell people how to overcome poverty i think what he should have done instead of wearing those torned funny socks of his,he should have at least taken initiative of giving half of his salary to build at least something like a school,hospital or build up something for poor people that would have meant a lot instead of taking us on the other side of wearing those socks to make us believe that he his fighting poverty my fellow Tanzanian brothers and sisters i hope if you calculate that amount of money in Tanzanian shillings its lot of cash you can even build up to 50 schools i hope you know the strategy of world bank,they can give u loan or grant but unless you follow what they want and to me,that is not acceptable how come i ask a loan from your bank and you know that i have to pay it back and you still put stiff conditions for me these people have a lot of propaganda when they giving you a loan or grant hope it really enters in your minds about what i am saying.
