ReplyDeleteHello guys, sasa? Mambo vipi?
What? A one-day Art Show.
Where? The Golden Tulip Hotel, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
When? September 2007.
Who? Invited artists (mostly painters) from Uganda and
Kenya and their Tanzanian counterparts (under the aegis of Indian Women Organisation in Tanzania artists through the Indian Embassy).
Why? The objective of this proposed Art Show is to raise the level of public awareness regarding East African art,
and also to offer a day of opportunity for the artists to
sell small artworks, as much as possible.
This show follows up similar Art Show last year at the same venue.
Each artwork must not be bigger than A3 size, and its price shall not be over 95,000/= TShs.
A potential participating artist is expected to show finished products in various forms, for instance, pencil line-sketches, paintings or cartoons, as well of on-site work in progress if the artist wants. Artists are required to sell their products directly to buyers without organizers’ charge or commission.
Selected artists from Kenya and Uganda will get partial reimbursements for their travels and stays in Dar es Salaam.
Please, spread the word, and greet my fellow artists in East Africa.
