Julia Opoti (pictured) has taken over as Mshale's Interim Editor-in-Chief following the departure of Edwin Okong'o this week. Her appointment is effective immediately according to Mshale President & Publisher, Tom Gitaa.
In a message to staffers, Mr. Gitaa said "Julia is very intimate with Mshale operations and has ably filled in as acting editor in the past when called upon to do so."
She was until recently the paper's Assistant Editor.
Julia is an alumnus of Metropolitan State University in Saint Paul, Minnesota where she was also Student Senate president.
She is also the founder of Kenya Imagine, an online forum for discussing East African issues.
