The following testimony is a testament (in itself) of its own gravity and importance to me. There are many ways to define a brand but the most compelling is through the experiences that one has with and the memories/associations resulting from the same.
Zain has embarked on a journey through its sponsorship of Circus Mama Africa that so embodies its core values as a brand that I am compelled to put pen to paper (so to say). Deranged as it may sound; I absolutely admire (I avoid using the word love...) the Zain brand.
The Zain Circus, Mama Africa is not only the most amazing live show I have ever seen, it is also the embodiment of a truth that is hard to deny - Africa (and dare I say mostly, Tanzania) is awake, but who is watching? This 65 strong troupe of Africans (most of whom are Tanzanians) puts on a world class show; so much so it is hard, sadly, to comprehend that they are Tanzanians.
With patience, this latent talent was nurtured and has erupted into this undeniable force that until now, even I was not aware existed. A closer look at this raw talent unravels yet more telling insights. Every time I talk to the individual artists (and I have talked to most of them individually), I hear a desire for something more in life underscored by a sense of purpose and fulfillment in what they have achieved with their talents (earning a living, building houses and performing extensively in Europe, Asia and South Africa) that I don't see even in myself sometimes.
They are the wild flowers that I talk about in my book (Life & You) that could have been left abandoned in the wilderness (for lack of conventional conformity) but instead were gathered and taken care off to expose their hidden beauty... The heart that guided these young minds is now radiated through their work and the sense of belonging that they have for the communities that they live in.
This is to me truly representative of the spirit that is Zain - heart, radiance and belonging. These young people and the organizers of Circus Mama Africa through their work are Zain.
Are you ready to experience Zain?
Zain we are.
To be honest I didn't know this circus are made up of Tanzanians at all, my first thought when I read it on Michuzi Blog, my first thought was that, here we go, Zain are pulling the strings bringing in Circus probably from one of the country in West Africa or down south, onto our Tanzanians theatres.. What Theatre??
ReplyDeleteAnd my second thought, thats the progress, they will come in and inspire our own circus group, which are well talented but are only for small and pity shows, which end up on the streets of our big cities, and sadly no much thought for the future of its members and its group.
It is inspiring to read how, they are progressive in their thoughts, their profession as circus entertainers and most importantly their well being.
But after reading this piece, I am kinda think, the youth are starting to shape up our country, starting from bottom up, on any development sectors that are coming to our thoughts, so do politics No exception. CHANGE is COMMING>>

Its a pity that a telephone company whos role in arts should have been just sponcers of event with a limit exhibit of their logo maybe on the tickets of the show turns and becames the show itself, this aggressive kind of marketting helps no one sponsership should be a cooperation between the artist and sponsering company the few shilings they donate should not concur the art, some kind of restrictions should be elaborated. Before we start hearing theirs is Zain band and voda dance group.although we apprecciate their few cents on art promotion it shouldnt be NONGWA.
ReplyDelete“THE RICHEST PART IN THE WORLD IS IN THE CEMETERY”
ReplyDeleteYes! the richest part in the world in not Diamond Mines in South African, not the giant economy of America, not cocoa of Ghana, not best technology of German or Japan, not mines and natural places in Tanzania, not China, not oil reserve in Arab World and neither the wonders of the world it lie in the grave!
Why? Because in the graveyard rest paint that was not painted, teachers that didn’t taught, picturers that was not drawing, song that was not composed, leadership that was not shown...etc many have died without exposing to the world who they real are and what on earth they are for. Its sad. real sad...and its a challenge to us all to give everything we can to the world, give all we can, maximize our full potential and lets "DIE EMPTY
I was amazed by these talented and amazing picture of young Tanzanians who i think the young people "...they have found their place in the world.." they are not footballers, not politician, not lawyers, not musician and cant be doctors but I believe they are n will remain to be the best of in the world!
...These brave young men and women reminded me of the important of discovering/recognizing, releasing and maximizing our potential in life...truth that I discovered in the rhapsody book that i read fours years ago and because it was well written by an amazing man of GOD..Apostle of purpose, Dr. Myles Munroe, I will not and never forget that rhapsody which part of it Magavilla Constantine in his Book “Life n You” tried to expound to us.
Thanks to Zain, you real make our life wonderful lets VODACOM, TIGO and the upcoming and giant in the making ZANTEL invest in such kind of project that will add more to life..
..Let’s not make Grave be the richest part….lets Die Empty…
