JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Project Coordinator

DACHEP/PASADA Project

Responsible and accountable to:

PASADA’s Director and DACHEP’s Director

Context:

DACHEP (Dar es Salaam Archdiocese Community Health Program) and PASADA (Pastoral Activities and Services for People with AIDS Dar es Salaam Archdiocese) are partners in a joint project “East Africa Integrated Community HIV and AIDS Program” The Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall performance of the project, for reaching the stated objectives and for the management of staff involved in the project.

Main duties and responsibilities:

*Ensure that the project’s objectives are reached and that the overall performance of the project is appropriate and satisfactory.

*Overall management of the project activities and project staff.Supervise the work of the Field Officers.

*Ensure that the Project Administrator is adhering to all the financial and accounting procedures specified in the project’s Finance Manual and to those of PASADA’s finance management systems.

*Organize regular meetings with Key Facilitators, Field Officers, Field Assistants and CHEs as per the plans of the project and to ensure maintenance of team spirit and collaboration between all project staff.

*Keep track of the outcomes and impact of the project at community level and advise the management of DACHEP and of PASADA as to any necessary changes to be made within the project in order to improve performance and to reach objectives.

*Collaborate closely with PASADA’s Monitoring and Evaluation Officer with regard to progress of the project and in collecting “interesting stories of change” at community level through Field Officers, Field Assistants and CHEs.Represent the D/P Project in a manner that complies with the ethics and policies of both DACHEP and PASADA as individual organizations.

*Manage DACHEP/PASADA Project communications and visits (monitoring, learning, exposure etc.) for CAFOD and Comic Relief UK.

Desirable Qualities and Experience:

1st Class Bachelor’s Degree.Five years

experience in project management role.

Experience in management of project management.Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili.Enthusiasm and passion for the work carried out by PASADA and DACHEP.
