REMEMBERING MWALIMU JULIUS K. NYERERE:

Socialism and Founding President of Tanzania
On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of his demise, The Africa Initiative of Syracuse University invites students, faculty and members of the community to a Lecture-Reception to celebrate the life and times of the late Mwalimu Julius KambarageNyerere, founding president of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The event will be held on Wednesday
10/14/2009 at the Schine Students’ Center, Room 304-A
His Excellency, Ambassador (Dr.) Augustine Mahiga, Permanent Representative of Tanzania to the United Nations will deliver the commemorative lecture.
The celebratory event will provide an opportunity for reflection on – among other aspects - Mwalimu’s role in the building of the Tanzanian nationhood along the tenets of African Socialism, his unsung contributions to the liberation struggle in post-independence Africa, especially against apartheid in Southern Africa and his firm belief in leadership as service and sacrifice.

ReplyDeletekwa nchi ambayo imekopi kila kitu kwa Mwingereza kuandika TAREHE KIMAREKANI ni utovu wa nizamu na upoteshaji mkubwa. imajin hiyo eventi ingekuwa tarehe 11 mwezi wa kumi halafu muandishi aweke hicho kimarekani chache ni wangapi wangetokea kwenye siku sahihi?
