SYMPOSIUM MONDAY 20TH DECEMBER 2010
The Tanzania Intellectual Property Rights Network (TIP-Net) has the pleasure to invite you to its second intellectual property (IP) symposium to be held at the SIDO (Small Industries Development Organization’s) Arusha Regional Office located at Azimio Industrial Estate, close to Sunflag Factory, Unga-limited Area of Arusha Municipality. The event is scheduled for 8:30 am to 5:00pm
The theme for this year’s symposium is “Protecting Intellectual Property Rights to enhance competitiveness of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises SMEs in Tanzania.” Key note addresses to be delivered by leading experts drawn from government, industry and academia include: Linking Intellectual Property Rights to SMEs, Overview of SMEs in Tanzania, Addressing the problem of counterfeits through protecting IPR of SMEs in Tanzania and Mapping the Way Forward: TIP-Nets Strategic Plan and Capacity Building of SMEs in Tanzania 2011-2015. Other events during the symposium include inauguration of TIP-Net’s prize for the best student in IP Law tenable for final year students of higher learning institutions throughout the country as from 2011.
Participants shall be provided with conference materials as well as tea/coffee and bites/cookies during “health breaks”. Kindly note however that, TIP-Net does not provide any honoraria/per diems, travel allowance nor any other remuneration to its workshop participants.
