The Director General of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Dr. Ramadhani Dau has been elected member of the Governing Bureau of the Geneva-based International Social Security Association (ISSA).

Dr. Dau's election took place on Wedsnesday night at the Cape Town International Conference Centre in Cape Town, South Africa, will hold office for three years. His constituency consists of 15 Eastern and Southern African countries.

Alongside him, Prince Dlamini Lonkhokhela of Swaziland has also been elected to the Bureau of universal social security organisation.

The two will represent Tanzania, South Africa, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Madaqgascar, Lesotho, Kenya, Uganda, Djibouti and RwandaThe International Social Security Association (ISSA) is the world's leading international organization bringing together national social security administrations and agencies.

During a short meeting between the Dr. Dau and the ISSA Secretary General, Tanzania wa confered the honour to host the next Africa Region Social Security Forum at a date to be announced later. This will bring together all social security funds in Africa.

The ISSA provides information, research, expert advice and platforms for members to build and promote dynamic social security systems and policy worldwide. Founded in 1927, the ISSA has around 340 member organizations in nearly 150 countries.

The President of the ISSA is Corazon de la Paz-Bernardo, from the Philippines, and the Secretary General is Hans-Horst Konkolewsky, from Denmark..

  3. Tukubali tusikubali, like individuals, organizations change continuously, reacting to developments in their markets and to the arrival and departure of key people. And NSSF is no different in this case. In large corporations, these changes go on more or less unnoticed. But sometimes a Parastatal must change more quickly than this gradual evolution allows; it needs a break with the past, an accelerated pace of change—a transformation and this is what we’ve seen in NSSF since Dr Dau took over (when it used to be NPF) from the current Minister of Finance bwana Mustapha Mkulo.

    Katika Corporate world kila successful corporate transformations and their leaders—Dr Ramadhani Dau at NSSF, Idrissa Rashid at TANESCO, Ali Mufuruki at Infotech and Kimei at CRDB have become the stuff of business legend in Tanzania. The transformed companies have achieved unprecedented competitive power, a pride in everything they undertake, and outsized returns to shareholders. What chief executive officer wouldn’t want all of these things?

    Last time I checked from NSSF website,members contributions at NSSF are being invested in variety of economic ventures including Government Bonds, real estates, company shares and participating in stock markets and stock exchange. Lakini hiyo haitoshi, we need NSSF waingie kwenye IPP(Independent Power Producers) kama walivyofanya wenzao Brazil, Kenya, Malaysia na hata India ambako Pensio funds walikuwa mbele kwenye mipango ya kutengeneza umeme. We also need Daraja la Kigamboni na Mchikichini Housing Project zianze kazi as soon as possible and at the end of the day the drama of each corporate transformation unfolds in a different way, na mimi mtu tuu wa kawaida kama Bwana Muyaka would be the last person to prescribe a uniform script that must be followed in all cases. Mfano hatuwezi kumwambia Chechu at NHC au MGAWE at THA wafuate same prescriptions kama za Dr Dau at NSSF, Lakini I’m are convinced, however, that success in corporate transformations kama aliyofanya Dr Dau at NSSF is more than a matter of luck and that the art of leading them can be learned and in a turbulent competitive environment, this art may be the most important "core competence" of all
    maybe other CEOs ofPSPF,PPF na pension funds zingine can take a leaf from Dr Dau and start holistic approcha to restructiring and investments badala ya kujenga magorofa marefu left and right.

    Congrats Dr Dau at least someone out there recognises what you are capable of.
