EXIM Bank Tanzania has backed Temeke Municipal Environmental Conservation Campaign for cleaning the Stereo Market in Temeke Dar es Salaam.

The Bank's staff from various branches in Dar es Salaam join forces and participate in the overall cleanliness of the market as part of the bank's social responsibility activity as a community bank.

Speaking during the operation, the bank's General Manager Dinesh Arora said that their visit enable the bank to get the clear picture of the general market environment and challenges facing the management.

Among other areas, he said there is a quick need as the bank to see how the can reach the respective businessmen and provide entrepreneurship education to enable them benefit from bank's loans.

He said the nature of business to most of local markets are of low capital so there is a need for banking institutions to enable them and Exim is ready to do so.

"We have come to look the actual market environment with the nature of business surrounds here and see areas which we can put our support",

"But despite this we feel it won't be fair for us to come and leave without participating in one of the market's responsibilities, so we have participated to clean different areas of the market and will do this time to time," said Arora.

On his part the Chairman of Market Rajabu Kingalu thanked the bank for their visit which opens doors of in cooperation between the two.

He said they have a big challenge to ensure the Stereo market is always clean as the bank's visit will act as a catalyst and cement the habit of cleanliness to the stakeholders around the area.

To the side of empowerment in capital through loans he said complicated loans repayment has been a major obstacle for them to grow since their business are of middle and low capital.

"We are happy to share a day with a financial institution, we believe your visit can be a lasting solution to the challenges that we are facing in terms of enviroment conservation",

"Despite this, we must take this opportunity to ask your bank to plan for soft loans that we can manage and make us move from where we are,you are wellcome", said Kingalu.
