Tanzania Commission for Universities regrets to inform the Public that it has received news that it does recognize Japan Bible Institute and so the Institute is legally operating in Tanzania.
The information about Japan Bible Institute’s graduation has been reported on the Guardian ISSN 0856- 5422 ISSU No 5384 of Monday March 12th 2012 front page with the heading “Japan Institute Honours Mengi, others for serving humanity” and on ITV News Bulletin of the same day.
The two sources quote the Director of Japan Bible Institute for Africa Dr. Paul Zemu Shemsanga making a remark on Saturday at the Institutions second Graduation ceremony to honour the people who have worked to serve humanity. Dr. Shemsanga said his Institute is recognized by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) which is not true.
Tanzania Commission for Universities’ position is that Japan Bible Institute is not recognized as a Higher Education Institution and thus any awards conferred by Japan Bible Institute whether honorary or academic will not be valid or recognized in Tanzania.
Thus any person who volunteers to receive such awards does so on his/her own will and risks as to the status of the award in Tanzania.
