The Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism Hon Ambassador Khamis Kagasheki hosted a luncheon for Members of the Diplomatic Corps with the purpose of presenting Tanzania’s intention to vie for a seat to the World Heritage Committee.
The election for a seat to the World Heritage Committee is scheduled to take place during the General Assembly of State Parties to the World Heritage Convention to be held from 19 – 21 November, 2013 in Paris.
Addressing the delegates, Minister Kagasheki said that Tanzania has demonstrated a high level of commitment to conservation of its natural resources and has dedicated more than 42,000sq.kms of its land to conservation.

The Representative of the Members of the Diplomatic Corp, Dr Ishaya Samaila Majambu who is also the Nigerian High Commissioner to Tanzania expressed their gratitude for the kind gesture given them by the Ministry.
