Canaco scoop Extractive Industry Corporate Social Responsibility and Empowerment Awards

Canaco emerged the First Winner of The  Extractive Industry Corporate Social Responsibility and Empowerment  Awards in Tanzania on the category of  Mineral and Petroleum Exploration Projects.

The award ceremony which was presided by President Kikwete, was organized by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals through the Extractive Industries Stakeholders Forum (EISF).  The Extractive industry companies were classified in four categories; Large scale mining, Medium scale mining, Oil and gas companies and Exploration (minerals, oil and gas)  companies.

The event was hosted by Tanzania Ministry of Energy and Mineral and was held at Hyatt Hotel in Dares Salaam.Commenting on the Award, The President and Chief Geologist of Canaco Tanzania Limited, Denis Dillip said "We are delighted for being the 1st winner on the CSRE awards presented by HE President Jakaya Kikwete. 

"We thank the President, Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Handeni District and other stakeholders for  taking their time to recognising our outstanding efforts toward building a bright community that will continue to benefit from our Gold exploration project specifically Handeni and other coming new projects . 

"We believe such exceptional achievements are within our reach when we stand tall on a foundation of personal integrity, hard work and unwavering determination. Canaco Tanzania Limited and its team stand firm to continue hold this trophy for next coming round."

 Canaco Tanzania Limited emerged the overall winner in their category, however on individual awards the company scooped the following;

1.          First Winner in Empowerment Programs for the communities.
2.         First Winner in the Local Procurement Programs for the communities.
3.          First Winner in Water  Programs for the communities.
4.          Second Winner in Local Employment Programs for the communities.
5.          Second Winner in Education Programs for the communities.
6.          Second Winner in Infrastructure Programs for the communities.
