The Annual Mayors Charity ball, Charity fund raising cum advocacy event aimed at being the Mayor of Ilala signature event where by it shall bring all leaders from various sectors in Tanzania under one roof for one purpose, serving the society
This years mayors ball project is aptly named "Dawati ni Elimu" with a slogan “Kalisha mmoja, boresha Elimu”
Towards the Build up of the Mayors Ball, A charity walk will be held on 12 October from Mnazi Mmoja to Bunge Primary School from 6Am onwards.
“This charity walks is just one of the awareness projects which will be led by the first lady Mama Salma Kikwete who shall also be the guest of honour of this event” Stated Mayor Jerry Silaa
The First of its kind mayoral ball aims to raise TZS 4.98 Billion towards providing desk to 30,487 primary and secondary schools in Ilala Municipality by end of financial year 2013/14. 100% of all funds shall proceeds towards realization of this project.
So far there 86,242 desks are required out of which there are currently only 55, 755 desks which are being used. Thus there is a deficit of 35.35% of desk, whose void can be filled by creating a mass campaign that will be the ownership of the public where each and every citizen will participate towards Donating minimum for facilitating desk to all schools in Ilala.

Honoring the intentions of its founders, the Ilala Mayor’s Charity Ball., a non-profit organisation, is committed to raising money to directly benefit residents of Ilala Municipality. Proceeds from the annual Mayor’s Charity Ball will be awarded to charities chosen annually.
ABOUT DAWATI Ni ELIMU.DAWATI Ni ELIMU is a project towards the Mayors ball that aims to solve the issue of shortage of desks in primary and secondary schools in Ilala municipality where by currently there is a lack of 30,487 desks. The project is an initiative under the office of the mayor of Ilala Municipal Council, this project seeks to raise a sum of 4.98 Billion Tanzanian shillings with the emphasis that the society can contribute and make change to solve the challenges by calling upon organisation and individuals to contribute to this noble cause.

ReplyDeleteYaani Ilala municipality peke yake ina shule 30,487? mbona hesabu kubwa sana wakati nchi nzima shule hazifikii idadi hiyo?
Kama tushatumia si chini ya billioni 175 tangu 2010, sidhani kama kungekuwa na taabu ya madawati, hata kama yangeagizwa kutoka ulaya. Tuache kuburuzana na mambo anbayo wizara ya elimu pia itatoa takwimu zake kuwa wanasambaza madawati kila kona na kutumia mabillioni mengi tu, hii imekuwa ni "dili" ya watu kuomba omba. Serikali inakusanya kodi kila kukicha, kwanza tuelezwe zimefanya nini, sio "kututoza kodi" nyingine na huu usanii...
Dawati moja laki moja, kwa madawati 87000, tunahitaji 8.7Billion. Sasa mwaka 2010/11 zimetumika bilioni mia sabini na tano, si huko mashuleni vyote vingekuwa vimetimia? Vitabu, madawati, nyumba za walimu, maabara... Au tu ni kuchangia tu bila kuhoji?

Maendeleo yanakuja kwa njia mbalimbali.Acha hizi charity nazo zitowe mchango kama charity hata huku ulaya pesa zinazoletwa mnaziona ni lundo zinachangwa kidogokidogo tu mpaka zinakuwa kitu kizima.Hongeleni wadau kwani fikira za watanzani ni kuchangia pilau za ndo zisizokaa hata mwaka.nadhani tubadili mwelekeo tuchangie maendeleo.Hongeleni wadau.ila figure ya 2011/2012 mbona ni tofauti sana na nyinginine?
ReplyDeleteSamahani sana wanablog, mie kikwazo changu ni jina la heshima analopewa Meya Silaa, "His Worship Mayor"?!! (hapa sielewi). We worship God, Mitume and other spirits(Mostly Africans), kweli tunamwabudu meya,?!! Ndiyo maana yake!!. Naona jamaa wanachanganya lugha labda walitaka kusema Honorable. Unajua lugha ya Kiingereza mara nyingi aitafsiliki moja kwa moja kwenda kwenye Kiswahili. Halafu hii siyo kusema labda jamaa wamekosea kutype bali naona kuna watu wamempa Mayor ilo jina au yeye mwneyewe anajiita hivyo. Lakini bado naumiza kichwa kwamba katika ofisi yake yote ile hamna mtu ambaye angeweza kumweka sawa?! Na wasomi wetu kibao tulinao Bongo?!! Naomba na mie mnirekebishe jamani, maana haya mayai ya wazungu ni noma, tunatema tu mara nyingine, LOL!
