TANZANIAN POLICE REPORT DEATH
OF SUSPECTED ILLEGAL MINER
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, March 13, 2023 – Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:GOLD) (TSX:ABX) – A suspect illegally digging for gold-bearing ore in a remnant area of the North Mara underground mine fell to his death when he apparently attempted to escape arrest by the Tanzanian government task force combating gold smuggling. The police have issued a public statement on the incident and said a full report will be made after the autopsy on the deceased has been completed.
