The Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam Oysterbay today donated sanitary pads to female students at the Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre as part of its continued commitment to promoting girls' education, health, and dignity.

The donation, valued at approximately TZS 2 million, comprises 72 cartons containing a total of 1,728 packs.

Financed through the Club’s community project funds, it will help cover the Centre’s annual sanitary pad needs and ensure that menstruation does not become a barrier to learning, attendance, or participation in vocational education.

The handover took place following the Club's weekly fellowship meeting and brought together Rotary  members, representatives from Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre led by Father Felix, the Centre's Marketing Manager Ms. Sia, and student beneficiaries.

Speaking during the handover, representatives of the Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam Oysterbay emphasized that menstrual health is an important aspect of girls' wellbeing and educational success.

"Every girl deserves the opportunity to pursue her education with confidence and dignity.

By supporting

menstrual health, we are helping young women remain in school, participate fully in their studies, and build brighter futures."

Across Tanzania, many girls continue to face challenges accessing menstrual hygiene products, resulting in missed classes and reduced educational opportunities.

Through this initiative, Rotary seeks to contribute to a future where no girl is disadvantaged because of her monthly cycle.

Father Felix expressed appreciation for the Club's support, noting that partnerships between educational  institutions and community organizations play a vital role in creating an enabling environment where young people can thrive.

The sanitary pad donation marks one of the Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam Oyster Bay’s final community service activities for the 2025–2026 Rotary year, reflecting the Club's ongoing commitment to creating lasting impact through practical, community-driven initiatives.
