The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, his Excellency Jakaya
Mrisho Kikwete will be attending a Gala Night along with 30 Tanzanian
Artists including Lady Jay Dee, Professor Jay, Marlow and Chidi Benz;
marking the 3rd anniversary of Tanzania House of Talent (THT).
This event that will be take place at the Karimjee Hall on Monday Night 8th of December will be sponsored by Vodacom Foundation.

Tanzania House of Talent is looking at raising funds to enable them to
purchase or set up a proper performing arts and vocational training center that would cater of thousand of young talented Tanzanians.

While THT already gives youths a platform to perform and gain experience whilst also receiving welfare provisions such as 2 meals a day and a living allowance. Many of these youth are former street children, orphans or heads of households and THT has given them a sense of purpose and has made a positive impact upon their lives.
THT is the only performing arts centre in the country that accepts young people on talent alone, regardless of their financial, educational or social background. Without THT, many talented young people would go unnoticed and remain working in low wage, low skilled jobs.

Vodacom Foundation are in the forefront of this initiative and have
started by first enabling this Gala Night to take place with their
sponsorship but are also supporting the main objective of the night which is to further create opportunities for many Tanzanians who lack the resources and capability to aspire for their dreams. Fund raising through table purchasing will enable funds to be raised as many corporate organizations and individuals are invited to attend the event by purchasing seats for the event.

Established in January 2006, THT has been situated in Kinondoni but now
plans to expand so that the space, facilities and resources complement and enhance the raw talent of the youth that come through the centre. THT’s current lack of resources is preventing the unquestionably talented youth from proving their true potential within the performing arts sector. THT now feels that it is time to invest more heavily in the young talent of Tanzania by giving them a safe, supportive space to develop.

Renowned Tanzanian Artists are uniting with THT on the 8th of December to celebrate the talent of Tanzania whilst helping to invest in future
creativity. Vodacom Foundation and Tanzania House of Talent are inviting friends and stakeholders in the organisation to purchase tables for an exclusive evening of Tanzanian Entertainment whilst helping to achieve the dream behind the team of youth.

Some of the artists expected to perform at the event are Lady Jaydee,
Wanaume TMK, Wanaume Halisi, Chidi Benz,Afande Sele, Dataz, Banana
Zorro,Mandojo and many more including the hosts of the night all the THT artists the include Mwasiti, Maunda Zorro, Hafsa Kazinja, Marlaw and many more.

The long term aim is to offer vocational training including choreography, music production, set and costume design so that youth have more skills within the performing arts sector to assist them in finding wider employment opportunities on leaving the centre.
