Limelight Management jointly with Jake Productions last night introduced to reporters at the Alliance Francaise in Dar es salaam the new hot film 'Baby Powder, produced by US-based Tanzanian film production company, Jake Productions launched last November 14 in Atlanta, USA.

The cast of the movie features East Africans living in the USA, mainly Tanzanians and Kenyans (also Americans, Haitians and more)

The film is based on true events about a young African man (Phillip Nkasa) who moves to the US in the hope of educating himself to improve his life and his family back home. But when things don't go as planned, he takes a turn to the darker side of life in the effort to still accomplish his goal.

The Cast includes Lambert Tibaigana (PHILIP NKASA), Tuni Ngigi (WARIDI), Carlos Mwaibula (TIZO), Ulimboka Mwanjabala (CHUMA), Hadji Saidi ‘Helper’ (WESI), Lydia Mbuah (JOSELYNE), Warda Hassan (JACKEY), Dynamic (DULAH), Albert Levasser (MAMADO), Babu Sikare (KAI) and many others.

The audience, comprising of senior entertainment reporters from different media houses, left the auditorium with smiles after the 20 minute sneak preview, saying ‘Baby Powder' is a film not to be missed.

"These guys did their homework", said Shamim Mwasha Zeze, a prominent blogger and editor of DarHotwire website of the IPP Media Group. "The story line, overall acting and technical part are way beyond the level of most Tanzanian films", she added.

Deus Mhagale from Mwananchi newspapers was also of the same opinion, noting that this was the first time he had appreciated work done by Tanzanians for Tanzanians and the world at large. "The quality of the film with its subtle approach to real life drama is food for thought to stakeholders in the fast growing film industry.”I guess this film will definitely be nominated for awards anywhere", said he.

Script writer Emmanuel Mwambingu together with producers John Mahundi, Laurence Karabani and Limelight’s Robert Mbetwa were at hand to introduce themselves and field questions from the visibly impressed reporters. What next was the main question, and more fireworks should be expected was the response.

Freda Lyaruu, Limelight Management director, was more than happy. She said plans are underway to have a Tanzania Premier of the movie in Dar es salam next month before hitting the road to upcountry regions.

If the way the reporters' response is anything to write home about, then 'Baby Power' is destined to be one of the best films ever to be produced by Tanzanians.

Said Freda: "Limelight Management is a Tanzanian PR and communication Agency based in Dar es Salaam. We develop innovative marketing solutions that create and build brands to their full potential.

"We endeavour to communicate with effectiveness to target audiences and potential consumers. We have a well-connected network that covers the entire country from the urban to the rural centers."
