The Third Edition of the Grand Malt Tanzania Open Film Festival under the theme “Creating Linkages and Connecting People katika Msimu wa kilichobora” will open in Tanga, Tangamano on 27th June and will run till 3rd July 2011.
Bongo Films will be screened. So far More than 25 films have been listed for presentation, including feature films and documentaries. Note that only 10 will be shown

The Festival Kick off party to celebrate the start of GrandMalt Tanzania Open Film Festival week to be held at Mbalamwezi Dar es salaam, 16th June 2011, where Bongo movie stars Cloud, JB, Ray Kigosi, Kanumba, anti Ezekiel, Jack and others will be there to meet fans plus entertaiment.
A surprise addition to the festival schedule is the new film produced by Jacob Steven “Signature”

The film will be shown at the Official Opening Ceremony to take place at Tangamano Grounds, on June 27th evening at 6:30 PM.
On July 3rd, the festival will close with Tanzania Gala Night and an awarding ceremony to be held at Tanga Beach Resort.
Other than Cinemas-orientated activities, other activities of the Film Week will also include seminars, workshops including the Student Forum, a special program for film students; the Student Awareness Campaign to encourage early appreciation of films and develop a film-going culture.
Others are the Artist’s Cafeteria, where artists can interact and discuss pertinent issues; the Women in Film, bringing regional women filmmakers for a round table discussion; the Tanzania Filmmakers Forum; the Intellectual Property and Related Rights Workshop, and many other activities related to cinema, To be held at Kola Prieto Hotel conference on 28th 29th and 30th of June 2011
