Lake Victoria Environment Management Project (LVEMP II) held its Mid-term Review workshop from 14th to 15th 2011 in Isamilo Mwanza.
During opening ceremony on behalf Acting Director of Water Resource, Mr Sylvester Matemu the Assistant Director responsible for Tran boundary water described the workshop an important as it gives the chance for the Project Coordinators to evaluate what has been done against planned activities in general.
He emphasized that, although we still lay behind in some projects implementation still there is room for more speeding up the implantation process.
Presenting his remarks for Workshop members, the LVEMP II National Project Coordinator Mr Mabuba insisted that the purpose of the work shop was for stakeholders to discuss the process of implementation and evaluating its status. He emphasized workshop members to discuss more deeply all challenges facing the project and giving recommendations on how to improve the performance of the project itself.
LVEMP II has four components as follow Strengthening Institutional Capacity for Managing shared Water and Fisheries Resources, Point source Pollution Control and Prevention, Watershed Management and Project Coordination and Management.SAll these four major Components have several sub-components.
