MultiChoice Tanzania, the subscriber management Company for DStv subscribers in Tanzania has given a donation of Tsh 2M worth of books to Masaki secondary school in Kisarawe as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility activities.
MultiChoice Tanzania Public Relations Manager Barbara Kambogi said ‘MultiChoice Tanzania believes strongly in the importance of investing in education as already seen through our innovative programme known as the MultiChoice Resource Centres, which we have implemented across 41 schools in Tanzania. This book donation is part of our ongoing investment in education which will see generations of students excel in Masaki Secondary School in the years to come’’.
Also officiating the event, the Kisarawe District Head, Khanifa Karamagi, said the commitment by companies such as MultiChoice Tanzania in education was a worthy investment as the region had been facing shortages of books in schools. “I am grateful to be receiving this donation today in Masaki Secondary School. It will go a long way in assisting these students to perform well”,
MultiChoice Tanzania also promised to install a MultiChoice Resource Centre in the school once electricity is available. The Resource Centres, which are implemented in partnership with the Government, work by providing schools with resources such as digital satellite decoders and the DStv Education bouquet.
These channels within this bouquet carry information that the children would not otherwise have access to, broadening their minds and equipping them with knowledge and understanding of the world around them that generates significant social and economic benefits for them and their communities.
