President Obama openly wept today as he spoke of the mindless shooting of 26 people, including 20 children, at Sandy Hook Elementary school this morning saying, 'Our hearts are broken today'.
In an extraordinary show of emotion at a White House press conference, Obama said: 'I know there's not a parent in America who doesn't feel the same overwhelming grief that I do.'
The President addressed a stunned nation five hours after the son of a teacher brought terror to the Newtown, Connecticut, elementary school.
Seldom has a head of state expressed greater public emotion in modern times. Obama struggled for words, pausing several times as he wiped away tears saying, 'This evening, Michelle and I will...hug our children a little tighter, and we'll tell them that we love them.'
There have been conflicting reports of who the shooter is with some officials identifying him as Ryan Lanza, 24, and others claiming it is Adam Lanza. NBC said Adam may have been carrying his brother's ID.

Wamarekani kwa sababu zao binafsi wamekwenda kulipua mabomu kwenye nchi mbalimbali na kuua watoto na watu wazima wengi wasio na hatia. Laana hii inawarudia wao. Na bado, Mwenyezi Mungu wasiyemthamini atawaonyesha nguvu zake na vilio vya Iraq, Afghanistan. Somalia, Sudan. Libya na kwingineko havitapotea bure.
ReplyDeleteWhy we "shouldn't make any comment regarding president Obama" ? Yes,it's true that American government killed a lot of children in Iraq and continues to kill in Afghanistan and elsewhere. It's Ok for Obama to shade tears, but at the same time, he should remember that many innocent children outside the USA are dying because of American bombs.As Jeremiah Write said "American chickens have come home to roost". May God rest all the children dying due to American bombs and guns in peace. Amen
