Dear Kifungilo members and wellwishers,
ReplyDeleteThe news on Pasha club has made many of us reminisce about the good old times we had at Kifungilo. In our minds we wonder, where are all our friends, classmates, teachers who made Kifungilo life so unique and memorable? It would be soooo good to meet or just have some news about that wonderful place in the Usambara mountains that has made us who we are now.
Well, some of us have already started to make this idea a reality.
Currently there is a group of ex-Kifungilo students mainly graduates of 1992 who have been meeting regularly. Among our aims is to establish some kind of network of Kifungilo members of the 90s. We are sure lots of u would like to support us in this venture. Please communicate your ideas to us through kifungilo90s@yahoo.com.
Lets keep in touch!
Na tulenge juu!

ReplyDeleteHow can i forget the wonderful sisters? Sister Claudia, Sister Genevive, Kina Tansila to name but a few? Where are you Grace Rweyemamu from Dar, Rosemargaret Kasembe from Arusha? I will never ever, forget this wonderful school. God bless Kifungilo!
I was in Kifungilo for a good 7 years. Ladies, you brought back so many memories --how can one forget vibunto, kwenda kwa Sr. Servatrix (Seo) kushika. One thing for sure, especially those from the 80s will remember is, ubondo and makarura. Bulga and sometimes vindolo (my favorite) for supper. Thank you Dada Claudia and dada Maria for preparing our meals and also making those delicious maandazi for the holidays!!! Basi namba 1, 2, and 3 mpo? Now, this was the best part, go for a walk over the weekends to Dule, Kiusai, mwisho wa Kifungilo, and Mkuzi. On the way we would pick gooseberries and "mashambuloshi". In the course of all this, We learned quite a lot from housework to shamba work (kubeba mbolea kutoka kwa kuku). Then came the time to expand the school for secondary school...uwiii kubeba mawe kutoka mlima Kiusai. Thanks to Ms. Urio for all she did, now I can speak and write English. I promise you if it wasn't for Ms. Urio introducing that English Speaking slate and later on kubeba mawe if you got that slate....hmm I would have probably continued to say "Me I want kwendaring kunywaring water!!". Good memories, indeed! As a kid, it was hard to understand and nothing made any sense. I will live to remember and cherish KIFUNGILO, for it made me who I am today. Many thanks to Ms. Urio, Ms. Martha Thomas, Ms. Dafrosa, Ms. Rose, Sr. Monica, Sr. Servatrix (R.I.P), Sr. Electa(R.I.P), Sr. Erica (R.I.P), Father Peter (R.I.P), sister Claudia, dada Maria, Nurse Balbina, Nurse Maria, Baba Hasani and my classmates (Standard 7 of 1981) ---you were all my inspiration and thank you for your valuable contribution, for I am an independent and strong-will woman!!!
