ReplyDeleteMy limited research also showed that one of the two principals of Richmond Development Company, one Mohammed A. Gire, is a Tanzanian of Asian origin. He is also involved in printing business (the company Moelex mentioned i.e "Richmond Printing"). Both of these companies are located in the same Houston address.
There is a long article found on the web (it appeared on Houston Business Journal in Sept 1998) praising Mohd Gire's and his family's career as a printer. Ironically, none of this printing background is highlighted on his bio on the Richmond Development Company website where he is said to be a "prominent businessman and an active private investor in emerging high-tech companies and offshore real estate and Infrastructure sectors".

Another confirmation of the bogus nature of this Richmond Development Company is the similarity in address found on the expired company registration that Rev Kishoka provided and the one quoted in the Houston Business Journal article for Richmond Printing. The registration agent for Richmond Dev Co is/was located at the same street where Richmond Printing was before it moved to Schumacher, the current location of Richmond Printing and Richmond Dev Co...

I have heard enough from different sources to conclude that this company is unqualified and it obtained the tender to supply the turbine 'katika mazingira ya kutatanisha'. Nimesikia kuwa tenda ilifunguliwa, makampuni yakaombwa ku-submit, mengine yalitaarifiwa dakika za mwisho kabisa lakini yalifanikiwa ku-submit, lakini tenda inaonekana ilikuwa gelesha maana makampuni ya maana yakapigwa chini hivi hivi. Richmond somehow ikaibuka kidedea. An American company failing to secure a bank guarantee in America and having to resort to CRDB! It raised eyebrows but it seems these folks had backing from some powerful quarters, I can see why nobody would stand in the way to oppose them. Wakubwa wameshakula pande lao, ndani ya zama hizi hizi za ari mpya! Shameful. Inasikitisha kwasababu minong'ono hii inajulikana wazi lakini sijasikia chochote kilichofanyika ku-investigate hichi kitu.
