Ethiopian Airline’s Dreamliner Aircraft will make its first landing at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es salaam, Tanzania in the early afternoon of September 11, 2012.
During her meeting with the Managing Director of Tanzania Tourist Board Dr. Aloyce Nzuki at the TTB offices in Dar es Salaam, the Ethiopian Airlines Country Manager, Ms Milat Mekonnen, said the Aircraft will land in Dar es salaam at around 12.15 Pm which will be the first time since the inaugural flight of its Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner On August 18 this year.
It will be on its way to Lilongwe, Malawi. The maiden flight ceremony of the prestigious Aircraft is expected to be graced by the Minister of Natural resources and Tourism, Hon. Ambassador Khamis Kagasheki and the Minister for Transport, Hon. Dr. Harison Mwakyembe as well as other government dignitaries.
The Ethiopian Airlines recently took delivery of its first Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner dubbed “Africa First”. It is the first in the world outside Japan and ahead of any airline in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East to operate the Dreamliner. Ethiopia has placed an order of 10 such aircraft and will be receiving five of them before December, 2012.
During the inaugural flight on August 18, 2012 the aircraft flew round Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania for one hour on a Dreamtour
