CLARIFICATION
1. Pre - shipment from Japan inakuwaga around $200 by JAAI hamna anayelalamimika.
2. Other E. African countries wana requirements kama hii, Kenya wameteuwa Cotecna, fee is around £98 pounds excluding travel for inspection person,
3. Mot inspections is a uk government directive, regulations zao tofauti kidogo, Hiyo price imekuwa set hivyokwa ajili ya several reasons, a) bei ni political if it is too high basi watu watalalamika, b)it is not realistic since average labour cost for a mechanic/inspector is £50 per hour minimum two hours.
4. Penalty fees are upto 40% of the value of the car..assuming vehicle costs £3000 freight 1000, penalty is 40 % of cif works to about £1600 excluding customs, vat import fee storage etc.
5. The company pays a large sum to get the license, it has to pay it back onE way or another.
